Dear Families and Students,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at School #2! I hope you have enjoyed a summer filled with rest, fun, and time with loved ones. Whether you are returning to our school or joining us for the first time, I am thrilled to welcome you to another exciting year of learning, growth, and community.

At School #2, our motto, "We Aspire to Inspire," reminds us that we all have the ability to make a positive difference every day. This year, our school community will be guided by the story of the hummingbird.

The story tells of a great forest fire. As the larger animals stood watching, feeling helpless in the face of such a tremendous challenge, one tiny hummingbird flew back and forth to a nearby stream, carrying a drop of water in its beak each time. The other animals questioned why the hummingbird would bother when its efforts seemed so small. The hummingbird replied, "I am doing the best I can. I am doing my part."

This simple, but powerful story reminds us that no act of kindness, perseverance, or courage is ever too small. Every student, every family, and every staff member has the ability to make a meaningful contribution to our school community. Whether it is helping a classmate, showing kindness, working hard, asking thoughtful questions, or celebrating someone else's success, each small action helps create a stronger, more caring School #2.

One of the greatest strengths of our school is our diverse and welcoming community. We are proud to provide integrated English as a New Language (ENL) and special education programs that ensure every learner is supported, included, and celebrated. Together, we foster an environment where every child feels a sense of belonging and is encouraged to reach their full potential.

A successful school year is built on the partnership between home and school. Your support, encouragement, and involvement are essential to your child's success. I invite you to stay connected by attending PTA meetings and school events, communicating regularly with your child's teachers, and joining us in celebrating the many accomplishments our students will achieve throughout the year.

As we begin this new school year, I encourage all of us to embrace the spirit of the hummingbird. We will do our part, no matter how big or small, and to inspire those around us through our actions. Together, we can make this a year filled with kindness, curiosity, resilience, and growth.
